This is an excellent opportunity to join a global yacht management company who are experiencing a sustained period of growth & expansion. The role is based in Southampton (Hybrid) and the expectation is 3 days in the office / 2 at home
As Yacht Manager you will be the central point of contact and overall responsible person for all yachts assigned to you. To be the point of contact between the Yacht’s Crew, the Company and the Owner’s Team. Working with the Accounts and Administrative teams to ensure that our Client’s Yachts are managed in all aspects to the very highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of an assigned fleet of yachts.
- Ensure standard contract exists for all yacht activities and that contract standards are maintained
- Liaise with DPA and Technical Team to provide yacht operational requirements to allocated yachts
- Proactive communication with DPA and Technical Manager to coordinate audits and technical inspections.
- Where appropriate assist with the handover and takeover of yachts coming into or leaving the fleet.
- Collate the relevant information from the Yacht’s team to finalise and send out monthly reports to the Owner’s team.
- Support implementation and monitoring of ISM, ISPS, MLC, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant regulatory requirements where applicable.
- Liaise with the insurance company to advise them all compulsory disclosures (changes in operations, shipyard period, change in cruising areas, change of class etc.)
- Maintain an overview of Regulatory Compliance of vessels
- Assist with presentation of annual budget and monitor monthly spending in conjunction with the Yacht Account Manager
Requirements
- Have experience in yacht management, superyacht operations, commercial shipping, or a related maritime environment.
- Previous experience as a Captain or Chief Officer/Mate on board yachts or commercial vessels
- Must have previous shore-based experience in a similar role
- Experience managing client relationships, budgets, and vessel operations.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations and yacht operations.
- Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple yachts and competing priorities simultaneously.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
- Must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
