A leading Cruise line is looking for Lighting Technician’s to be responsible for programming, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting lighting, haze/fog, and show control systems in shipboard entertainment venues, ensuring all productions and events are delivered with technical excellence and safety.
Responsibilities
1. Lighting Operations
-
Program and operate lighting systems for shows, rehearsals, and events.

Coordinate with guest entertainers to meet lighting needs and update showfiles.

Maintain the artistic and technical integrity of original lighting designs (modifications require corporate approval).

Power down non-essential equipment when not in use.
2. Setup & Maintenance
-
Assemble/disassemble lighting gear for group functions, theme nights, and special events.

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of all lighting fixtures, racks, and haze/fog systems.

Replace blown lamps, refill fluids, and restock consumables (gels, CO₂, haze fluid).

Ensure clean, organized, and hazard-free technical spaces.
3. Inventory & Documentation

Maintain inventory of lighting equipment and parts.
-
Update lighting plots and schematics when changes are made.

Complete AMOS work orders as assigned.
-
Ensure accurate logs for installations, repairs, and returned gear.
4. Training & Support
-
Train Technical Stage Staff and Lounge Technicians for career development.

Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and ensure cross-functional coverage.
5. Administration
-
Attend relevant meetings; use only company-approved communication channels.

Backup and store showfiles in secure local and cloud locations.

Label all equipment racks with power and source info.

Maintain updated handover documents with clear photo/video support.

Ensure secure password storage and access for relevant leaders.

Support new or returned equipment testing, logging, and storage
Requirements
Qualifications
-
High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Technical Theater, Lighting, or A/V preferred.

At least 2 years of hands-on experience with intelligent/conventional lighting systems and show programming.
Skills & Knowledge
-
Proficient in lighting consoles and software (e.g., DMX, ETC Sensor).

Strong troubleshooting ability on lighting systems, haze/fog units, scrollers, and dimmers.

Understanding of musical theater and show control systems preferred.

Good communication and teamwork skills; ability to train others.

Familiarity with networking and entertainment software tools.
-
Stays current with industry standards and technology.
Physical & Language Requirements
-
Must pass a medical evaluation; able to lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Full use of vision, hearing, and mobility required for emergency duties.

Fluent in English (spoken and written) for clear communication and documentation.
