A leading Cruise line is looking for Entertainment Media Specialist’s is responsible for the operation, content production, and technical maintenance of the shipboard video media systems. This includes broadcast television, ship-wide video distribution, video projection, LED walls, Coolux systems, and live and recorded video production.

Responsibilities

---

Daily Operations

• Operate shipboard broadcast and video playback systems in entertainment venues and public areas.

• Review daily schedules and prepare equipment for all events.

• Ensure programming is aired on schedule using approved content sources.

• Monitor and adjust broadcast and video signals for optimal quality and reliability.

• Support the Cruise Director by filming and editing onboard production shows and related content.

Technical Duties

• Maintain and troubleshoot:

  • Broadcast Control Center

  • Coolux video servers

  • Projection systems (lamp and laser-based)

  • LED video walls

  • IPTV and QAM encoding systems

  • Video routing systems and patch bays

  • SDI video and audio interfaces

• Manage and store video media equipment responsibly.

• Perform preventive maintenance and report repair needs.

• Assist venue teams in using public space TV systems and ensure equipment is functional.

Content Creation

• Shoot and edit commercials and promotional content for onboard revenue and guest engagement.

• Produce internal media content with approval from shoreside.

• Ensure content adheres to company branding and quality standards.

Training and Teamwork

• Mentor new EMS staff and train them in all operational procedures.

• Participate in meetings, drills, and training sessions.

• Collaborate with department heads and technical teams to resolve operational issues.

Requirements

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of verifiable experience in television broadcast or video production.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in TV/video production preferred.

• Proficient in non-linear video editing (Avid required).

• Experience in live TV production and direction (multi-camera preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in:

  • Avid editing

  • Studio, remote, and handheld camera operations

  • Coolux server systems and LED videowall control

  • Adobe Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator)

  • Mac & Windows OS

• Knowledge of:

  • Serial Digital Interface (SDI)

  • Video switching and routing systems

  • Projection technology and maintenance

  • Broadcast-quality audio/video cabling and standards

  • Computer networking (basic IP systems)

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Up-to-date with broadcast technology and trends

Internal Candidate Requirements

• Completion of two contracts in current position with satisfactory performance

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities

• Endorsed by current manager and approved by Entertainment leadership

Physical Requirements

• Must pass medical evaluation.

• Capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.

• Visual, hearing, and physical fitness required to perform emergency duties and lifesaving procedures.

Language Requirements

• Fluent in spoken and written English

• Able to read, interpret, and communicate technical instructions clearly
