We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Superintendent to take responsibility for the technical management of assigned LNG vessels.
Acting as the key link between ship and shore, you will oversee the safe, compliant and cost-effective operation of your fleet, working closely with Masters, Chief Engineers and vessel owners to ensure the highest standards of technical performance, regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day technical operation of assigned LNG vessels, ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and efficiency.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for Masters and Chief Engineers, providing guidance on maintenance, repairs, drydock planning and critical equipment.
- Maintain strong relationships with vessel owners, providing technical, operational and budgetary updates.
- Monitor vessel machinery, equipment performance and planned maintenance to maximise operational reliability, energy efficiency and vessel performance.
- Plan and oversee maintenance, repair and drydocking activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Prepare, manage and monitor technical operating budgets (OPEX) for assigned vessels.
- Ensure vessels remain fully compliant with statutory, class and international maritime regulations.
- Conduct vessel visits, inspections, audits and surveys, ensuring corrective actions are completed where required.
- Support and mentor shipboard personnel through coaching, interviews and performance reviews.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a valid Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency.
- A minimum of three years’ sailing experience as a senior engineering officer on LNG vessels.
- At least three years’ shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent managing LNG vessels within a ship management or ship owning organisation.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive, safety-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
- Fluent English and good computer literacy.
