A leading cruise client is looking for Paramedic’s to provide individualized, high-quality emergency and routine medical care to passengers and crew aboard. As a first responder, the paramedic plays a vital role in triage, on-site stabilization, and patient transport.
Responsibilities
1. Emergency & Patient Care
-
Promptly respond to all emergency medical calls and triage according to clinical need.

Deliver on-scene medical care, stabilization, packaging, and transport of patients.

Administer treatments autonomously within protocols and standing orders.
-
Assist doctors and nurses during clinic hours, providing continued care and diagnostics.

Dispense and administer medications as per guidelines.
-
Maintain clear, timely, and concise patient records in electronic medical systems.
2. Medical Center Operations
-
Perform equipment checks, ensure readiness of emergency kits and treatment rooms.

Assist in X-ray acquisition, laboratory testing, and basic diagnostics onboard.

Maintain pharmacy inventory, including medications and consumables.
-
Ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency in the Medical Center and Secondary Medical Space.
3. Public Health & Safety
-
Support outbreak response, infection control, and public health compliance.

Participate in port inspections, internal audits, and drills.
-
Contribute to crew wellness programs and preventative care initiatives.
4. Training & Development
-
Deliver crew training in basic first aid, CPR/BLS, and emergency preparedness.
-
Participate in emergency drills, including General Emergency Organization duties.

Take part in professional development and maintain knowledge of evolving practices.

Assist in competency evaluations and support fleet-wide improvements.
5. Administrative & Financial Tasks
-
Support billing accuracy in compliance with Fleet Medical Regulations.

Monitor and report on budget usage, supply levels, and financial efficiency.

Suggest improvements through RICE (Reduce, Increase, Create, Eliminate) initiatives.
6. Customer Service & Cultural Sensitivity
-
Communicate compassionately and professionally with guests and crew.

Maintain cultural sensitivity across diverse age groups and backgrounds.
-
Interact positively in public areas, promoting visibility and confidence in medical services.

Participate in service recovery efforts when complaints arise.
Requirements
Qualifications
-
Advanced Life Support-level Paramedic qualification
-
Current professional registration with a recognized regulatory body
(U.S. candidates: NREMT-P required)

Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience in EMS, remote, or emergency care settings
-
Valid ALS/ACLS certification (prior to joining)

PALS certification (required within the first year onboard)
-
Fluent in English (verbal and written, including medical terminology)

Computer literacy and experience with EHR systems preferred
-
Valid passport and eligibility for a C1/D Visa (for non-U.S./Canadian citizens)

Work Schedule
-
Contract length: 4 months onboard, followed by 2 months off
-
Participation in on-call rotations for 24/7 emergency coverage

Required attendance in drills, inspections, and training

Must carry a radio or handphone while on duty
Summary of Physical & Legal Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs, and perform repetitive movement

Capable of operating in changing environments (indoor/outdoor)

Compliant with International Labour Organization (ILO) and maritime health standards

Must complete mandatory safety training before or upon boarding

Must be proficient in PPE usage and infection control protocols
